Learning Thai

Finding Information

There are two main methods of searching the wiki to find information:

Use the Navigator panel if you are looking for general information on a topic. Use the search engine to find a word or phrase. Click one of the links in the menu at the top of the page to learn how to use each method.

The Navigator Panel

The Navigator panel located on the right-hand margin of the wiki site is the primary navigation tool within the wiki site. With it, you can navigate directly to all of the pages on the site.

The Navigator panel is arranged in a tree, organizing the pages of the wiki into categories, or "folders". Each folder is a major topic, such as "Consonants", or "Homework". The pages within each folder are named for the subtopics that they address. For example, in the "Consonants" folder you might find pages for the individual consonants, a page covering the consonant classes, etc. Under "Homework", you might find the homework assignment for next Sunday's Intermediate Thai class.

To use the Navigator panel, simply scroll up and down until you find the major topic that you're looking for (or a major topic that is likely to contain the information that you want). Click on the topic to open the list of subtopics, which are the actual pages of the wiki.

On the list of subtopics that opens, click on the subtopic(page link) to bring up that page.

It's really that simple!

If you don't find what you're looking for on the list of subtopics, you can return to the list of major topics by clicking the "Back" button in the upper right corner of the Navigator panel.

Searching

The best way to find a specific word or phrase is by using the Search box in the upper right corner of the wiki. Use this search box in the same way that you would use an Internet search engine, such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing. Simply type your word(s) into the box and press the Enter button on your keyboard.

After pressing Enter, you will see a list of wiki pages that contain the word or words that you entered. The results page will list each page and a short excerpt from the page that contains your word(s), with your search words highlighted in yellow. Click the page title to be taken directly to that page.
